The report in the Senate and future plans were discussed

The next meeting of the Defense and security committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. Members of the Senate, Juqorg’i Kenges (Higher Council) of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, chairmen of permanent commissions of people’s deputies of regions and Tashkent city councils, expert group of the committee, officials of relevant ministries and agencies, and mass media representatives were attended in it.

At the beginning of the meeting, the issues of the State budget for 2023rd year were discussed in a preliminary manner, after which the newly revised law “Huquqbuzarliklar profilaktikasi to’g’risida” (“On prevention of infraction of the law”) and issues related to the development of the Armed Forces, further strengthening of the defense capabilities of country, and the state of working with citizens appeals in the system of the Ministry of Defense were discussed.

Deputy Minister of Defense, Colonel Hamdam Karshiyev also attended with his report on the current problems of the construction of the Armed Forces and its further development, the work carried out by the Ministry of Defense in connection with the military service of citizens and other issues, and the state of working with citizens’ appeals in the ministry system during the past period of current year. In turn, the priority tasks and proposals for 2023rd year in the system of the Ministry of Defense were intensively discussed and approved by the senators.

During the meeting of committee, detailed information was given about work the carried out by the Military office of public prosecutor of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the past period of 2022 to ensure the rule of law in the troops of the Ministry of Defense, strengthening legality, protecting the rights and freedoms of military personnel, citizens, and the interests of society and the state protected by law. At the end of the discussions, relevant decisions of the committee related to the above issues were accepted.
