At the “Yunusobod” sport complex located in Tashkent city “Memorial tournament” was held on hand-to-hand fighting dedicated to the 14th January — Day of the Defenders of Motherland and memory of the defenders who sacrificed their life in the way of piece of Motherland in time of fulfilling of their duty.
This commemorative tournament was established by the Ministry of defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Youth policy and sport, Hand-to-Hand fighting federation under the Law enforcement organization of Uzbekistan. Military personnel who are in the force structure competed for the victory in various weight category in it.
Ministries of defense, Internal affairs, Emergency situations and National Guard, Presidential state security service, State security service, representatives of directorate of the State custom committee, representatives of the cooperation state and public organizations, active and amateur youth, sport masters attended in the festive opening ceremony of competition. All heads of the ministries and organizations watched directly final competitions.
Those who made a speech at the event mentioned about duties where defined in the presidential decree on “Measures of developing hand-to-hand fighting types of sport” and explained its meaning. In the meaning, main directions were defined in the decree, according to this, current “Memorial tournament” will be held every year traditionally.
Competition has started after concert program of the opening ceremony and winners were found out turn by turn. Competition wasn’t easy for the fighters indeed. Because each military sportsman put into work his all opportunity. Winners who reached high results in the selection stage of the competition raised up to the final field. Final competing was full of intrigues because of all sportsmen’s attention directed to the victory.
According to the final results of the competition, State security service took the first place at the score of the general-team. Team of the Ministry of defense reached second place and third place was taken by the team of the Ministry of Internal affairs. In addition, according to different nominations and weight categories hand-to-hand fighting masters were found out.
Winners and prize winners were awarded with the cup, diploma and commemorative gifts by the establishers of this competition.
