On the initiative of the military personnel of the North-Western military district of the Ministry of defense of Uzbekistan, a number of events in the participation of Armed Forces veterans and youth were organized in Nukus.
These events dedicated to the 9th May — Day of Memory and honor, is to inform youth more about the contribution of ancestors in the II World War, hard work of grandmothers behind the front, freedom and peace of the Motherland is an invaluable gift, as well as, ancestors’ bravery such as protecting people and Motherland until their last breath shows that it is the sacred duty of brave and noble people.
At the event that was organized at the “Vatanparvarlar bog‘i” (Park of Patriots), veterans and young people laid wreaths at the foot of the “Motamsaro ona” (Mourning mother) statue and commemorated the memory of those who fought for the freedom and piece of the Motherland.
After that, an introduction to the military equipment located in the park was held, and their combat power, history of creation and purpose in armament were explained in detail. Musical performances and songs in the patriotic spirit performed by the Nukus garrison military orchestra shared more festive mood to all.
