Uzbek military personnel who showed courage in Turkey were awarded

On the initiative of the President of Turkey, ceremony was held dedicated to award the foreigners who attended in the elimination of the consequences of the earthquakes in the country, with the State high sacrifice medal and commemorative badges of the Republic of Turkey.

To this solemn event leadership of the country invited representatives of nearly 100 states that have shown courage in eliminating the consequences of the natural disaster. During the event, vice president of Turkey Fuat Oktay presented commemorative badges to Shuhrat Ikramov, the military attaches of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey, and Colonel Ismail Sharipov, the representative of the Ministry of emergency situations, and awarded that the Uzbek military personnel who have participated in search and rescue operations with great selflessness and showed bravery.

As you know, strong earthquakes occurred in Turkey on February 6 of this year. To eliminate the consequences of these earthquakes, rescuers and volunteers were sent from about 100 countries over the world.  In particular, it should be mentioned, that on the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a medical detachment consisted of 71 qualified military personnel and military doctors of the Ministry of defense was sent to the Republic of Turkey on February 8 to help eliminate the consequences of losses in the country. 

The Uzbek military delegation have been helping Turkish people affected by the earthquakes for almost a month.  During this time, they provided medical assistance to a total of 4.325 patients as well. More than 2.000 of them were men, 1.476 were women, and 1.354 were children.
