A press conference was held on the issue of housing for military personnel

On September 29, a press conference was held at the Information and Mass Communications Agency on the subject of additions and amendments to the regulation on the procedure for providing housing to the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The press secretary of the Minister of Defense on information policy Colonel Otabek Yuldashev, assistant to the head of the Supply Department of the Ministry of Defense for legal issues Major Mahmud Yodgorov,head of the Department of Housing Captain Alijon Kambarov as a speaker, heads of relevant departments, people who are responsible for providing housing for military personnel, and representatives of republican news agencies and mass media participated in the event.

As you know, in order to further strengthen the issues of ensuring the social protection of military personnel in our Armed Forces, on August 25, 2022, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed the decree “on Amendments and additions aimed at improving the procedure for providing housing to servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, citizens released (retired) from military service to the reserve (retired) and their family members”. At the conference, detailed information was given about the new benefits specified in the Resolution.

7,225 military personnel, citizens retired from military service and their family members were provided with modern and comfortable residences at the expense of the houses built in 2017-2021 within the framework of the relevant programs adopted by the relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that during the period up to 2017, the indicators of housing provision in the system of the Ministry of Defense did not exceed 450 per year, and based on the above-mentioned State programs, the construction was carried out in the centers of Tashkent and the regions of our Republic. the number of residence is on average more than 1,500 numbers per year.

In accordance with the President’s decree, the following changes and additions were made to the issue of housing for military personnel:

providing housing for family members of military servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan who were deemed unfit for military service due to an illness or injury received during the performance of their military service duties and released (resigned) to the reserve (retired), as well as military servicemen who died (passed away), regardless of their length of service;

when military personnel are transferred to the system of other ministries and agencies for actual military service, transfering the service apartments given to them to the disposal of relevant ministries and agencies;

clarifying of the category of dependents together with their family members when determining the social norm for the area of housing allocated to servicemen;

providing of accommodation at the expense of the state for citizens who have completed military service with a total military service period of 20 years and have been released to the reserve, at the same time, benefits such as counting their years of study in higher education institutions and years of work in state bodies and organizations to the period of actual military service.
